Experience and Knowledge

Dr. Jacqi has years of experience working with infants, children, pregnant women and athletes.  She has been adjusting her daughter since she was a baby and has adjusted many children from infants to teenagers with great success.  Dr. Jacqi also works with young athletes, to help keep their bodies functioning and developing properly.

Pregnancy

There are many benefits of prenatal chiropractic care. Pregnant mothers find that chiropractic adjustments help maintain a healthier pregnancy, relieve back, neck or other joint pain without medication, alleviate nausea/ morning sickness, create space in the uterus for the baby to develop and position itself in the proper position for birth. This can often lead to decreased labor and delivery times and potentially prevent a C-section.

Specific chiropractic adjustments and table modifications help make chiropractic care possible for pregnancies of all stages.

Infants and Children

The chiropractic adjustment is adapted for the infant’s/child’s spine and should not be confused with an adult adjustment. Many parents have their newborns checked post-delivery. Significant spinal trauma can occur during the birthing process. Children can experience the same spinal complaints as adults, such as neck pain, back pain, or headaches. There are also many other reasons that parents bring their children to a chiropractor such as help with colic, reduce the incidence of ear aches, help alleviate constipation, acid reflux and digestive issues, assist with sleep issues, help with asthma and sinus congestion, scoliosis, help alleviate bed wetting, and more.

Sports

In the case of a sports injury, an accurate diagnosis is the first step in creating a treatment plan. A thorough orthopedic and neurological exam will be performed as well as a chiropractic exam to determine the best treatment plan for your injury. Treatment usually begins with passive care: RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation), therapeutic modalities and adjustments. It then progresses into active care: adjustments, stretching, strengthening, improving flexibility and eventually sport specific activities. We then focus on injury prevention. This is done through maintenance, evaluation and treatment to detect any imbalances that may lead to re-injury.

Athletes of all levels seek chiropractic care to maintain their health,  prevent injury and achieve optimal function of there nervous system.
